Richard Hammond Cheating Death

This is one seriously lucky guy.

Richard Hammond has cheated death... twice now. The first time is when he got into that accident back in 06' going 288mph in some sort of jet car.

The injuries he suffered after that accident was just terrifying and it did leave him in a coma.

This time around, he was on a motorcycle filming for TGT. Fell off and went flying and ended up hitting his head leaving him in critical condition. A lot of talk went around thinking he wouldn't have made it, especially given where they were at that time and reports stating that appropriate medical aid was nowhere close.

BUT he's fine now. Not only is he fine, but he's still a very happy camper.

What does he have to say about the accident? "...Life goes on."

No video footage has surfaced of the accident, and I'm not even too sure if it would make it to the show.

Well he's a trooper, never known to complain about things like this, just goes on with life as he says. But one thing for sure is it will come up in conversation on the show and play well into what his role is on the show. In a way it gives him more cred.

He'll be alright. To be honest, this is what they sign up for. Anybody in the automotive community, especially media of any sort that test out high caliber vehicles, and even some lower end, know the dangers of going high speeds. Things will happen, and we hope it doesn't result in death, but it is an option.

I think that's an aspect of fun that comes with it too. The adrenaline, the nerves, everything. Very exhilarating... anything that fun is definitely bound to come with serious consequences and risk as well.

Tough spot for them to be in since unlike Hollywood films its not easy to fit in a stunt double and if they do work in stunt doubles, you'll know, it will be obvious.

Going forward they just have to be careful and mindful of what goes on.

For things like this, if they put in stunt doubles, it would be all sorts of wrong. That's like getting a stunt double for Chris Harris when he's driving on the track.

Richard Hammonds dad even understands that this is what it's about and what's to be expected with this quote : 'He does have a habit of getting involved in things like this, but then that is his job.'

It's just what's it's about.

Only difference is with him, I don't think he has the history that Richard does. Chris is much more controlled and cautious. But he still pushes the boundaries.

But fact is, on this scale of production, a stunt double is a possibility.
